The Challenge
Hartley Electrical had a strong local reputation built over 12 years, but their website — built on a generic template back in 2018 — was holding the business back. It loaded slowly on mobile, didn't display NICEIC accreditation prominently, and had no dedicated emergency callout page.
The result: customers who searched "emergency electrician Leeds" at 11pm with a tripped consumer unit bounced to competitors with cleaner, faster sites. The owner estimated they were losing 8–12 high-value emergency jobs per month.
The Approach
We built a 9-page bespoke website from the ground up, designed around the search behaviour of Leeds homeowners. Key decisions:
- NICEIC badge above the fold on every page, with a direct link to their public NICEIC register entry to build instant trust
- Dedicated emergency callout page with massive click-to-call buttons, optimised for "emergency electrician Leeds" and surrounding area searches
- EV charger installation landing page targeting the rapidly growing OZEV-grant market — high-value enquiries with strong commercial intent
- EICR testing page specifically for landlords, with a streamlined enquiry form for multi-property bookings
- Local SEO architecture with dedicated landing content for LS6, LS7, LS8, LS17, and surrounding postcodes
- TradeDesk integration so jobs booked via the website flow straight into the management platform
The Results
Within 90 days of launch:
- 47% increase in monthly enquiries through the website contact form
- First-page Google ranking for "emergency electrician Leeds" and "EV charger installer Leeds"
- 3.2× increase in EV charger enquiries from the dedicated landing page
- Bounce rate dropped from 68% to 31% thanks to the faster mobile load times
- Customer satisfaction score of 5.0 across all platforms
The website now functions as the primary lead source for Hartley Electrical, replacing dependency on Checkatrade and word-of-mouth referrals as the main growth driver.
